God I love NES jokes. This is the right kind of online advertising. Seth MacFarlane is paid by BK to do a bunch of funny stuff. The only ad is at the beginning when it says “Presented by BK”

Three words I would use to describe Selective Services, especially after seeing this amazing 80s PSA about registering for the draft. 10:1 it’s the black guy that ends up going to war. What? Everyone knows George Bush doesn’t care about Black People.

While watching Spinal Tap the other day, I saw a commercial for maybe the greatest product ever. You see…apparently blankets are pretty damn inconvenient, so now you can get a blanket with sleeves!

Let’s pause to reflect on some of the greatest moments of this ad:

• The rhyming in the beginning that quickly gets dropped.
• The fact that your hands get caught in a blanket.
• Use your laptop with the snuggie. Great idea, just fry your scrotum so you can never have kids.
• Apparently when you’re reading with your kid and you’re both wearing Snuggies, you read books backwards. Take another look at that one…
• I can’t tell you how many times I’ve wanted to play backgammon, but a blanket’s got in the way.
• Similar products cost up to $60. Really? There are similar products?
• This is available in three colors, but everyone in the ad is wearing the burgundy.
• Which of course causes everyone to look like they’re in a cult.
• Especially when outside roasting marshmallows (and preparing to sacrifice a virgin?)
• Even more especially when enjoying the outdoor sporting event.
• The high-five while in the snuggie.
• That booklight looks like it would help a lot in that incredibly bright room.

I had to do it. I had to post this commercial for Barack Obama. Rarely has a political commercial made me laugh, but this one took me over the top. A little laughing “at” when they start singing about the middle class, but mostly laughing with.

Yea, yea, it’s advertising. But it’s pretty well done. Phone companies have to work HARD now that the iPhone’s so damn affordable. This seems to be from samsung, unlike the Samsung Instinct commercials that were done by Sprint’s agency.

But this isn’t a marketing blog, so just enjoy the tiny people dancing. Those fireworks look about as real as the Chinese Olympic footstep fireworks. Yea, how’d ya like THAT, China? I zinged ya. I zinged ya good.

I love alliteration, but not as much as I love the food network. This has nothing to do with either, except it’s some ad for some website that no one cares about…that features a kid who’s supposed to be a TV chef. But not the food network kind, the other kind. The angrier one.

This kid is supposed to be Gordon Ramsay as a kid, and I think the hair alone sells it, but the cursing helps a lot.
